Please be so kind as to sign my Guestbook (just leave a comment below) saying you stopped by. I’d just like to get an idea of how far from home my ramblings have wandered.
In other words: Hi, what’s your name and where ya from?
Hey Johann! I was just looking to see what, if anything, was out there on the web regarding the Cherry Stoners and found your sight. I am in the Cherry Stoners (even though we play around 4 times a year these days). I couldn’t agree more about the radio stations not supporting local music (at least back then) more than it did. I did have a couple DJs helping us a bit back in the day, but as far as the Springfield music scene in general… well not so much.
Also, agree with you on the abortion/death penalty thing too, not to mention Illinois’ Gov. Gayboyabitch (Coined it myself, but it never caught on).
Anyway, I’ll save your blog as a favorite & check back in when I have more time. Sorry for going on… Enjoyed reading what I had time to read, though. Take Care.
Thanks, Rich. Don’t know if you remember me, but I’m a long-time friend of Doug’s, the Slingshot Monkey bassist. You’ve seen me loitering around gigs a million times, but I won’t be offended if you don’t remember me.
Thanks for the kind words- and I love your term “Gayboyabitch”!!! Classic!
Since I’m from Splfd and I found you on SpfldBloggers, I’m probably not going to be able to help with the “far from home” part. However, I wanted to tell you that I think your hilarious and I’m glad I stumbled into your blog.
Hey, what happened to your entire blogosphere? It’s disappeared!! Nothing even in the archives…except for your last post.

Zebra: Wish I knew. Woke up the other morning to a 100% blank blog. Not sure if it was an unfortunate glitch or if the Blog Nazis deleted everything, but it’s apparently ALL gone.
Good work, pal.
I’m from Springfield.
Had fun reading the men vs women post, good piece of writing.
