Talk about pummeling the opposition!
I was scanning election progress around 1:15 or so this afternoon, and saw that in a town in Pennsylvania, there were two members of the Black Panthers standing outside the entrance to the polling place. One looked to be roughly 6′5″, maybe 6′6″, based on how far into the air the reporter was extending his arm to interview the guy, and the other guy was holding a nightstick in his hand, slapping it against his leg.
Now let’s examine this a little bit, shall we?
First of all, let the record show that these two gentlemen have every right to stand at the polling place. However, my question is, why would they? I sure as hell have better things to do than just stand outside a polling place all day. But what, exactly, is their function in doing so? They’re {presumably} not hired security, and if some type of skirmish were to break out, I’m fairly confident this town has a police force. But the bigger issue here is, even if you ARE going to stand outside a polling place in support of your candidate, what in the friggin’ hell do you need the nightstick for? That’s nothing but pure voter intimidation and it’s BULLSHIT. It’s a bullshit tactic used for no reason than to try to force a race issue.
Now before you go accusing me of being some racist pig, I am not going to assume which candidate the Black Panthers endorse because, in my mind, it doesn’t matter. What were these punk ass douchebags going to do, interview every voter coming in and/or going out, and if they didn’t vote for the candidate the Black Panthers felt they should have, were they going to beat the shit out of them? Are you fucking kidding me?! Tell me that’s not {racially motivated} intimidation.
Or better yet, answer this question: how is this situation any different than if the Ku Klux Klan were standing outside a polling place, in their equally punk assed full hooded bedsheet regalia, brandishing nightsticks or clubs or burning crosses or whatever? Exactly my point.
America- land of hypocrisy.

Perhaps they could drive over to Indiana. Slapping their billy clubs in the palms of their hands probably would’ve run off the asshat electioneers standing too close to my polling place.
I was watching Bill Maher a couple weeks ago, and they had some former Republican campaign strategist on there… basically stating people like him on both sides can be directly linked to employing tactics like this on voting day. In that respect, it’s almost the worst form of hypocrisy…and it is bullshit. He went on to warn of this sort of stuff.
Johann…do you have a link?
Forget it, I found it. That’s pretty bad, if it’s legit. The first two names I saw associated with the report were Michelle Malkin and FOX news, so… you know, grain of salt…
Gotta say though, the “camera man” nervously asking his partner “Dude, got my back?” before he approaches them CRACKS ME UP!
Still, it’s bad. Voter intimidation is not cool.
Nancy- that’s the first thing I thought (Michelle Malkin & FOX News, etc.), but I watched it myself. Had I only heard about it with those two names attached, I wouldn’t have given it another thought. Even I know that FOX News and especially Michelle Malkin make mega-conservative ultra right-wingers look like Sean Penn and Michael Moore. But as I say, I watched it with my own eyes.
Like I said, what if it would have been the KKK doing that? Can you imagine the violent (and perfectly legitimate) uproar THAT would have caused? What’s good for some…
And I’m sure {whichever candidate they were supporting} likely had no idea it was occurring and probably wouldn’t have wanted it to occur if they DID know, but it really puts a HUGE dark storm cloud over their efforts to get elected nonetheless. Especially Obama, considering the campaign he has run pretty much all along. JMHO.
UH: LMFAO @ “asshats”.
I don’t really understand what the problem is here. I stood outside of my polling place yesterday wielding a giant hard salami, tapping it against my leg, and looking hard at people. I even stood with my arms crossed a few times.
I’ve heard that about you.
