One more thing ref Springfield Bloggers Night
Okay, now that it looks like we’re all set for next Sunday’s Sliders game, I have kind of a dumb question:
How are we actually getting together, i.e., meeting?
With the exception of Nick, I don’t actually “know” any of you. I mean, there’s a couple of you whose pictures I’ve seen either on your blogs or in the SJ-R (Daaaaan….), but I am SO horrible remembering faces that I would likely run right into one or more of you and never know it.
I am assuming that the plan is to get general admission tickets so we will have a greater chance of finding a spot to all sit together, as opposed to getting reserved seats, where we’re a lot less likely to be able to even be in the same section, let alone all together.
So what’s the plan? Are we going to meet outside the gate and all go in together, are we going to go ahead and buy tickets and meet inside, or what? And since I won’t know anyone by sight, and since I doubt many of you know me by sight, how will we actually physically get together?
Any ideas?

General admission, outside the gate, 15-20 minutes before game time.
And I know you, Dan, Shoo, John and Micah and the Anonymous Communist. Not to sound pompous, but if you can recognize me, come to where I’ve congregated and wash my feet.
Failing that, I hereby agree to wear my “Grab the bull by the horns” T-shirt. It’s blue with big letters. Easy to see.
I think beforehand, we should designate a baseline, perhaps the visitor’s side because it wouldn’t be as crowded, and a section. Most of us know someone else so if we had a general idea of where to look we could find the right crowd.
Or, we could all paint our faces Spfldblogger grey.

Oh, I like that. Maybe if there’s enough of us, we can spell out “S-P-F-L-D-B-L-O-G-G-E-R-S” or something on our chests as well. Maybe we can enlist some of the wives for help with that.

But I think UH’s idea of basically meeting up with him works, since he knows pretty much all of us. And Dan, I typically sit on the Sliders’ side, but you might be on to something (sitting on the visitors’ side) since there will be a fairly sizable amount of us. Whatever everyone wants to do is fine by me- I’m easy.
Oh, and UH- as far as I know, AnonCom has to work that night. Have you talked with him lately? Did he wind up getting the night off? I just saw him the other night and completely forgot about asking him if he was coming.
But UH- PLEASE don’t make me wash your feet with my toothbrush again this time.
I’ll keep my eye out for those of you that I know by face. Then I’m going to try to guess who’s who of the rest of you.
i wont be able to make it. if someone could eat a hot dog and drink a beer for me, that would be great. : )
I just now stumbled across this discussion. I’ve never been to a Sliders game, but I had a quick conversation with Mrs. Locavore and she sounds interested. With any luck we’ll be showing up (assuming that nobody objects to our hyperactive 3-year-old son accompanying us)!
