Random ramblings from an idiot

And you wonder why I don’t like people

Ya know, all it takes is perusing the SJ-R.com message boards for a few moments, and my total disdain and contempt for most of the population comes out.  It just amazes me how friggin’ ignorant, self-centered, hypocritical, and, sometimes, just plain stupid many of the people who post (especially the “regulars”) are.

For example, people bitched about the so-called Scott’s Law (a good law which is, unfortunately, necessary), posting such brilliant gems of wisdom as:  (any spelling and grammar errors that may exist were not corrected by me, to further show their “intelligence”)

  • “They punish everyone for what one person did while driving drunk. It’s all about the money.”
  • (referencing the trooper from the story) “Sounds like Price is a little high on himself… If you are so scared of traffic, don’t pull people over for ignorant violations.”
  • “Sure the guy violated the law, but every day I see cops let a dozen violations of the MVC go by … but you better not violate the one that affects them.”
  • “Just a budget builder for the police department.”
  • “I am on the drivers side. This trooper was clearly being a jerk.”
  • “Out of State + Lexus x Cop Ego = “Trophy Ticket” “
  • It’s no wonder that Officer Price is looking for people who break the law by not pulling over when another cop has a car pulled over – this is $200 to the state instead of the normal $75 for a speeding ticket. Much more profitable.”
  • state police are a joke”
  • State Troopers are tax collectors who inforce insurance company rules”

That’s only a small sample of some of the absolute rocket surgeons that SJ-R.com attracts.  Look, it’s one thing to have a differing opinion.  I have no problem with differing opinions.  But comments like these are just flat out stupid.  People are ignorant of the law and want to be able to use their ignorance as their excuse (hmmmm… who’s THAT sound like?!).

It kills me that some people (aka liberals) scream for da gub’ment to “save us from ourselves” (aka give “free” healthcare “for all” that actually comes at the expense of the middle class, give protection to illegal aliens, etc), yet any time the government does pass a law or gets involved with anything, those same people turn around and scream that this law is unconstitutional or that law infringes on “my rights to choose to break the law” or some similarly stupid reasoning.  You can’t have it both ways, people.  You don’t get to pick and choose what laws you do and do not have to follow.  I think the seat belt and helmet laws are dumb- I think everyone should wear seat belts and motorcycle helmets but I don’t think it’s up to the government to tell us we have to.  If people choose not to, let them.  The herd needs thinned out.  But I still follow the law and wear my seat belt.  Why, because I’m a “conformist sheep who kowtows to the Man™”?  No, genius, because I’m a law-abiding citizen, even for laws I think are “stupid”.  It’s called being responsible.  But then, liberals don’t like having to take responsibility for their actions… why take responsibility if you can find someone to blame instead?  Dumb-asses.

Another nice source of hypocrisy is how the people in this town want more police presence and/or involvement, yet every time the police are involved with anything anymore, it’s an automatic race issue.  My, THAT’S convenient.  You fucking people need to walk a mile in an officer’s shoes- no, a yard in their shoes should be sufficient- and realize what they have to deal with in the course of doing their job, without having to be under a microscope 24/7.  For example, I’m not saying racism on the police force doesn’t exist, but for the love of Chrysler, you all make it sound like SPD’s uniform should be white robes and pointed hoods.  Get over yourselves.  Again, I know there are issues with the SPD specifically and with “cops” in general, but police officers are undeservedly one of the most maligned and underfuckingappreciated careers there is.

If Scott’s Law saves only one officer/fireman/EMT’s life- or even that of a motorist- that law is a success.  If the construction zone speed limits save only one construction worker’s life, that law is a success.  They want to install cameras in Enos Park, from what I understand- if those cameras catch or even prevent only one criminal, they would be a success.  You want the police to do more about crime, then when they try, you don’t like it, yet you won’t (can’t) come up with a solution yourself.

Then there are the idiots who posted, in reference to the story about the first day of hunting season, how they should give the deer weapons “to make things even”.  And to think Mensa denied their applications.

There were even postings on the Black Friday story actually defending line-jumping, free-for-all “no holds barred” shopping tactics, and just basically acting like complete idiots so their little brat child can have the hot toy of the year, in an effort to buy their child’s affections instead of acting like a parent and earning it.  And you wonder why kids are the way they are today- smart-mouthed disrespectful hellions who, strangely enough, don’t believe they should have to follow rules.  Don’t get me started on the whole dress code thing.

There are the people who think everyone should have the right to speak their opinions about anything and everything, even if it could be potentially offensive to someone.  Unless it offends THEM, then the speaker must be stopped by any means necessary.

The big one that creeps up on the boards from time to time that just staggers the imagination is how ANYONE can be anti-death penalty yet pro-abortion.  “Oh, who are we to put him to death just because he raped, tortured and killed 23 children?!  He has RIGHTS!!!!”,  yet you have absolutely no problem dismembering and killing an unborn child.  People like the fictional yet fact-based serial killer I described LOST their rights to their rights, as far as I’m concerned.  They had no problem taking the rights from their victims; they in turn should lose theirs.  These convicted felons live a hell of a lot better in prison, thanks to you bleeding heart idiots, than a lot of hard-working law-abiding citizens do. Yet it’s okay to kill a fetus who did absolutely nothing wrong, other than be unfortunate enough to have a mother that doesn’t know how to keep her legs closed or can’t even be responsible enough to make her Mr. Right of the Night wear a rubber.  Heaven forbid SHE be proactive enough to take BCPs.  Or be responsible enough to say “no”.

All you little “everything is someone else’s fault” imbeciles better be glad I will never run for public office and if I ever did, that I would never get elected.  (I wouldn’t because I have morals and believe people should take responsibility and suffer due consequences for their actions.  People nowadays apparently don’t go for that sort of thing.)  I would likely only last one term, if even that, but I’d make some changes that desperately need made.

And, you think Blowjobovich is doing a great job and that Hilary Clinton and/or Barack Obama will make a good President.  Holy crap, are you people blind.  Or perhaps just stupid.  Or both.

I’m not all that intelligent, but as long as people post on SJ-R.com, I can take solace in knowing that there are people out there more stupider than me.  I wasn’t sure that was possible, but the proof is out there.

  1. Easy there, Limbaugh. Take a Vicodin.

I’d be willing to bet that the majority of our citizenry, even the vile, contemptible liberals, thinks that Scott’s Law is fair and just, despite your cherry-picking of the story’s comments.
